The Seattle office of the Washington State Department of Revenue is hosting a free workshop for new and small business owners on Monday, March 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2401 4th Ave., Suite 450, in Seattle.
Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection, and record-keeping requirements. All receive a workbook and helpful reference guide to Department of Revenue rules and regulations.

Sramana Mitra offers free weekly strategy roundtables for entrepreneurs to address positioning, financing, and other aspects of a startup venture. During this 60-minute session, entrepreneurs are invited to pitch Sramana their business ideas. She will review the material immediately and provide feedback on each pitch, as well as address specific positioning questions from the entrepreneur. Afterwards, she will take questions about positioning from other participants. PeaceTrees Citizen Diplomacy Trips provide an opportunity for volunteers to experience Vietnam from a unique and rewarding perspective. Our trips include several days at the beginning and end to explore Vietnam in its many facets – its scooter-filled cities, gracious old towns, beautiful beaches and sobering battlefields. But the real heart of the trip takes place in Quang Tri Province, an area which endured some of the heaviest bombardment and deadliest conflicts of the Vietnam War. During your two-week trip, you will be able to see most of the country, volunteer with one of our community service projects in Quang Tri Provence, and interact with the Vietnamese people in a meaningful way that few travelers ever get to experience. Whether you’re new to Twitter or a regular user, this class will help you maximize your efforts to make contacts and grow your business. The first part of the class will cover the dos and don’ts of Twitter and an explanation of how to create scheduled tweets in both TweetDeck and Hootsuite.
