A Celebration in Honor of The Raynier Institute & Foundation The event will include the announcement of a $7.75 million package of grants from The Raynier Institute & Foundation that will safeguard and broaden efforts to prevent homeless young people in Seattle from becoming chronically homeless adults. The programs to be funded are run by YouthCare, serving homeless and at-risk youth ages 12–24, and ROOTS, which provides emergency shelter for homeless young adults ages 18–25. A cake reception celebrating the renaming of YouthCare’s Orion Center will follow. There will also be opportunities to tour the Orion Center and speak with Orion Center staff and representatives from The Raynier Foundation, ROOTS and YouthCare.
