The new season of the Science & Technology Discovery Series begins September 10 with a look at the legacy of the Exxon Valdez and the effects of oil spills on aquatic ecosystems by Usha Varanasi, director of the Northwest Fisheries Science Center and winner of a Department of Commerce Gold Medal.

Register today to hear from Dr. Varanasi and many more of our state’s leading scientists and researchers as a member of the Discovery Series. An exceptional line-up of speakers will address topics including: wildlife forensics; very recent human evolution; the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s newest global health initiatives; cutting-edge energy conservation technologies and smart dwellings; the science of chocolate; and more.
