DSA Q&A Forum: A Conversation with Chief Diaz, set for Oct. 7
In one of his first public presentations since being confirmed, new Seattle Police Chief John Diaz will be the featured guest at this fall’s DSA Q&A Forum at 8am on Thursday, Oct. 7 at The Conference Center at 8th Avenue & Pike Street.
Chief Diaz will share his thoughts on the future of the Seattle Police Department and budget impacts on public safety, as well as details on innovative new programs including web-based crime reporting, online police mapping reports, late night public safety patrols and the proposed Law Enforcement Assisted Division (LEAD) strategy which would provide outreach services to low-level drug offenders to reduce illegal drug activity in Downtown neighborhoods in lieu of jailing and prosecution. The chief will also respond to questions from the audience.
The DSA Q&A Forum is sponsored by Starbucks Coffee Company and News Talk 97.3 KIRO FM, and is co-presented by CityClub and the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce.
A continental networking breakfast is included, beginning at 7:30am.
