Upper School Assistant Varsity Girls Soccer Coach

Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle, currently recruiting for an Assistant Varsity Girls Soccer Coach, for the 2010  season.  This position will be part-time and seasonal, with in-season coaching duties running from August 16, 2010 to November 20, 2010.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Varsity Girls Soccer Coach, reporting to the Head Girls Soccer Coach and the Athletic Director, will join an athletic program that includes 24 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts.  The Girls Soccer program generally includes two teams (Varsity and JV) at the Upper School and at least one team at each grade level at the Middle School.  The Assistant Varsity Girls Soccer Coach is directly responsible for the coaching of the Varsity team as well as other program-wide duties as assigned by the Head Girls Soccer Coach.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League, and WIAA policies and procedures;
  • Supervision and instruction of Girls Soccer student-athletes during all team activities;
  • Maintenance and inventory of Girls Soccer program equipment and apparel;
  • Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes; and
  • Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes

Requirements:

Successful candidates must be 19 years of age, possess a valid Washington State driver’s license, be a high school graduate or have completed a graduation equivalency diploma, and be available for practices and competitions from 3:00pm daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required for practices and competitions.  Previous experience coaching soccer at the middle school, high school, or club level is preferred.  Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check.
