The American Heart Association (AHA) has named Tracy Peacock as the new senior vice president of development for the greater Seattle-Tacoma region.

Ms. Peacock will oversee all corporate partnerships and revenue generation in the Puget Sound region, particularly through community initiatives such as Start! Heart Walk, Go Red For Women, and Heart Ball. Her role includes working with the board of directors in Seattle and Tacoma to strengthen community support for the American Heart Association in these geographic areas.

This is the second time that Ms. Peacock has worked for the organization. She was the Pierce County regional director for Heart Walk in 1997 until 2001, and spent a number of years working as the district executive director of the American Cancer Society, South Puget Sound region.

Founded in 1924, the American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of heart disease and stroke.  To help prevent, treat and defeat these diseases — America’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers — the AHA funds cutting-edge research, conducts lifesaving public and professional educational programs, and advocates to protect public health.  To learn more, call the local AHA at (206) 632-6881 or (253) 272-7854 or visit www.americanheart.org.
