Do you have a plan to meet the 100% air cargo screening mandate? Time is running out.
Effective August 2010, 100% of air cargo flown on passenger aircraft must be screened according to the 9/11 Act enacted by Congress. Unscreened cargo will not be permitted to fly, potentially leading to logjams at airports, delays of time-sensitive cargo, and compromising product integrity. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) responded by developing a supply chain-based program to aid industry in meeting the mandate and mitigate risks to cargo velocity. Learn more about the benefits of TSA’s program, the Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP), and how it provides businesses with options to screen cargo cost-effectively and efficiently at various points in the supply chain.
- Screen cargo where it is packaged, without invasive screening or manipulation later in the supply chain
- Maintain in-house packaging integrity
- Avoid screening logjams (air carrier delays) at the airport
- Build bulk configurations to minimize transport cost and maximize efficiency
