MaidPro of Seattle Tackles the Dirt with A&E’s Hit TV Show “HOARDERS!”
The episode on Dec. 28 was filmed in Spanaway and followed Shannon as she and her husband try to clean up their home. Shannon, Tim, and their four young children live in a house that is filled with garbage and infested with mice. Her dogs roam freely in the clutter and there’s a two foot hole in the bathroom floor. She was devastated when Animal Control removed 20 cats from the home three weeks ago. Now, as cameras are rolling, police arrive at the front door with Child Protective Services to remove her children.
MaidPro of Seattle owner, Maxine Kenefsky, said, “We were more than happy to lend a hand. My team did a great job and it definitely showed in the final product. The job was rewarding in so many ways. We were thrilled to be making a difference. I think that Shannon was too!”
Mark Kushinsky, CEO of MaidPro, said, “I think hoarding is a fairly misunderstood condition. Getting the homes of these hoarders clean is a certainly difficult, seemingly insurmountable task, but the reality is that the initial clean is just the beginning of a very long journey these people will take. We just hope we can help with this one component of their recovery to set them on the right track.”
“Hoarders” explores the world of extreme hoarding; a mental disorder marked by an obsessive need to collect things, even if the items are worthless, hazardous or unsanitary. “Hoarders” is produced for A&E by Screaming Flea Productions. Executive Producers are Jodi Flynn, Matt Chan and Dave Severson. A&E Executive Producers are Robert Sharenow and Andy Berg. “Hoarders” Season 2 premiered Nov. 30 and the show is aired every Monday at 10 p.m. EST on A&E.
